Set up Awin with Zapier
Before you get started, make sure you have:
An Awin advertiser or Publisher account with API access.
API Access limited to your Plan
As an advertiser you must either be on our Accelerate or Advanced Plan or run multiple programs with us to gain access with exception of the Conversion API (Zapier: Advertiser - Create a Transaction)
A Zapier account. If you don’t have one, sign up here.
Zapier offers a free entry plan in which you can create two step Zaps and up to 100 actions a month. If you would like to do more complicated Zaps or perform more actions Zapier offers affordable pricing plans.
Get inspired and see how to set up Zapier with our Offers API.
Step 1: Connect Awin to Zapier
Sign in to your Zapier account.
On the Zapier dashboard, click on apps on the left side of the screen
In the right top, click on Add Connection and Search for Awin
A pop up window appears (see screenshot on the right).
Collect your API token from the Awin Dashboard and enter it here
Specify whether you are a publisher or an advertiser
Select the timezone of your programme
Enter your program or publisher ID (you will find it in the top right of the Awin platform after being logged into your account)
Continue creating your first Zap
Step 2: Choose Your Trigger and Action
Every Zap has two components: a Trigger (an event that starts the automation) and an Action (what happens in another app as a result).
Select a Trigger Event from either Awin or a different app. Some popular examples:
Scheduled (daily, weekly, etc.)
New Offers are uploaded on Awin.
A new row is added to a spreadsheet.
Choose an Action Event. Some popular examples include:
Add a new row in Google Sheets or Excel.
Send a notification in Slack or Microsoft Teams.
Generate an Awin tracking link
In between your Trigger and final Action steps, Zapier offers a lot of different other Actions that can be added to optimize your flow. For example if you want to filter out data, format text or dates and many more. Some examples:
Filter by Zapier
Loops by Zapier (used when you want to for example loop through each row in an excel file and perform an action for each).
Formatter by Zapier (used when you for example need to convert dates into different formats or turn text into line items).
Step 3: Map Data Between Awin and Your Chosen App.png)
Zapier will guide you through mapping data from Awin to the selected action fields in your chosen app. See an example on the right where the contents of an excel file are used to dynamically populate the required fields for on of our Actions.
Step 4: Test Your Zap
After mapping the data, it’s essential to test the Zap to ensure everything works as expected. Zapier will walk you through a test run, and you should see data from Awin showing up correctly in your action app (e.g., Google Sheets, Slack).
Step 5: Turn On Your Zap
Once testing is complete and you’re satisfied with the setup, turn on your Zap! Now, it will run automatically in the background, saving you time and effort.
