Set up Awin with Zapier

Before you get started, make sure you have:

  • An Awin advertiser or Publisher account with API access.
As an advertiser you must either be on our Accelerate or Advanced Plan or run multiple programs with us to gain access. Also see advertiser-success.awin.com.

  • A Zapier account. If you don’t have one, sign up here.

Zapier offers a free entry plan in which you can create two step Zaps and up to 100 actions a month. If you would like to do more complicated Zaps or perform more actions Zapier offers affordable pricing plans.

Step 1: Connect Awin to Zapier

  1. Sign in to your Zapier account.

  2. On the Zapier dashboard, click on apps on the left side of the screen

  3. In the right top, click on Add Connection and Search for Awin

  4. A pop up window appears.

    1. Collect your API token from the Awin Dashboard and enter it here

    2. Specify whether you are a publisher or an advertiser

    3. Select your timezone

    4. Enter your program or publisher ID (you will find it in the top right of the Awin platform after being logged into your account)

  5. Continue creating your first Zap

Step 2: Choose Your Trigger and Action

Every Zap has two components: a Trigger (an event that starts the automation) and an Action (what happens in another app as a result).

  1. Select a Trigger Event from either Awin or a different app. For example, Zapier also offers a scheduled trigger that allows you to perform a reoccurring Zap. Search for the Zapier App to find all of their triggers.

  2. Choose an Action Event. Some popular examples include:

Step 3: Map Data Between Awin and Your Chosen App

Zapier will guide you through mapping data from Awin to the selected action fields in your chosen app. This allows you to dynamically populate fields from a trigger into an action. For example using the Transaction ID gained from New Conversions in the Validate Transaction by ID Action. Or you can use it to populate different columns in an excel table.

Step 4: Test Your Zap

After mapping the data, it’s essential to test the Zap to ensure everything works as expected. Zapier will walk you through a test run, and you should see data from Awin showing up correctly in your action app (e.g., Google Sheets, Slack).

Step 5: Turn On Your Zap

Once testing is complete and you’re satisfied with the setup, turn on your Zap! Now, it will run automatically in the background, saving you time and effort.
